Award for „Opowieści o g/Głuchych w komiksie i zinie”

The project, implemented by the Embodiment Foundation in 2025, received recognition in the “Inclusive Processes and Accessibility” category. It uses comics and zines, independent publications usually produced in small print runs, as tools for cultural education. Through visual storytelling, it presents the history and culture of Deaf people and creates space for them to share their own experiences, identity and perspectives.

These activities align with the research interests of Dr Agnieszka Kołodziejczak, which include art history, the artistic output of Deaf artists, and the presence of Deaf culture in cultural institutions.

Polish Sign Language at the Łódź się tłumaczy” Exhibition

Dr Agnieszka Kołodziejczak also collaborated substantively with Dr Paulina Długosz on the preparation of the exhibition "Łódź się tłumaczy” [Łódź Explains Itself], opened on 23 October 2026 on the occasion of Literature Night at the Museum of the City of Łódź.

The exhibition presents the diversity of languages used in Łódź and the role of translators in communication between people and cultures. It includes Polish Sign Language (PJM) as a fully-fledged language, demonstrating its importance for the city’s linguistic diversity and for the presence of the Deaf community in both its history and contemporary reality.

As a content-related consultant, Dr Agnieszka Kołodziejczak prepared content devoted to PJM and materials for a guide on empathetic communication aimed at secondary school students.
