Conference topics
The focus will be on issues related to:
- sustainable development and alternative development paradigms,
- global civilizational challenges,
- the resilience of cities and socio-economic systems,
- green energy transition in cities and regions,
- the role of data and artificial intelligence in decision-making processes,
- social participation and urban governance,
- the well-being of residents of post-industrial cities.
Who can participate?
The event is intended for students, doctoral students, academics, practitioners and public administration representatives interested in contemporary development trends.
Conference venue and programme
- 10 September 2026 – Faculty of Economics and Sociology, University of Lodz (POW 3/5)
- 11 September 2026 – Faculty of Management, University of Lodz, (Matejki 22/26).
The programme will include thematic sessions, panel discussions and opportunities to publish articles in scientific journals and publishing series (including Springer Progress in IS and Lecture Notes in Informatics).
Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in thematic walks around Łódź, focusing on revitalisation, the city’s history and its contemporary transformations.

Conference participants from UNIC member universities are exempt from the conference fee.
