Centrum Studiów Zrównoważonego Rozwoju WZ UŁ na stażu naukowym w Leeds University

A team consisting of Prof. Marek Matejun, Prof. Bożena Ewa Matusiak and Dr Izabela Różańska-Bińczyk have been doing a research internship at Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds in the UK on 8-29 May 2024. It is one of the leading universities in the UK, ranking 75th among the best universities in the world (QS rankings 2024). It is also a member of the prestigious Russell Group of 24 world-class, leading research-intensive British universities.

As part of the research internship, the employees of the University of Lodz Faculty of Management held meetings with employees of the Department of Management and the Head of the Workplace Behaviour Research Centre, the Head of the Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Studies and representatives of the Sustainability Team. During the meetings, they presented the scope of activities and the results of the current research conducted at the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies at the Faculty of Management of the University of Lodz. They also discussed theoretical assumptions and research plans related to the ongoing NCN project entitled "Zielone zarządzanie zasobami ludzkimi a wyniki środowiskowe przedsiębiorstw: Analiza mediacji w podejściu wielopoziomowym" [Green human resources management and the environmental performance of enterprises: Mediation analysis in a multi-level approach] at a research seminar organised at Leeds University Business School. They also took part in a scientific seminar entitled "A Comprehensive Examination of Proactive Employee Behaviour" and a lecture "Publishing in Top Tier Journals" by Professor Robert C. Liden from the University of Illinois Chicago.

The team members attended the scientific conference "Research and Innovation Conference: Expanding the frontiers of research" and the workshops: "How to retain and engage your people", "TikTok for Business", "Grow Careers North". They also took part in the open days "Be Curious: family open day at the University of Leeds", lectures: "Sustainability – Transition your Business to Net Zero", "Net Zero – Creating the world's first decarbonized industrial cluster", "Building and leading high performing teams” and a discussion panel as part of the Corporate Wisdom series at Leeds University Business School with Will Stratton-Morris, CEO of Caffe Nero and meetings organised by the Sustainability Team entitled “Repair Café” promoting sustainable development among the academic community. They also made study visits to ‘green’ organisations operating in Leeds.
