“Global by Design” – UniLodz at the NAFSA 2026 Conference and Education Fair in Orlando, USA

Representatives of the University of Lodz, alongside delegates from other Polish universities, took part in the NAFSA 2026 Conference and Education Fair, held this year on 26–29 May in Orlando, United States, under the theme “Global by Design”. The theme encouraged action based on thoughtful planning, bold innovation and storytelling, as well as sustainable practices.

This year’s edition of the conference demonstrated that the future of international education requires the intentional design of more inclusive and globally connected experiences. In her opening keynote, Leila Cobo, a renowned Colombian journalist and Director at Billboard – the leading American magazine covering the music and entertainment industry – emphasised that music remains a universal language that builds bridges between cultures and people. She also noted that an authentic, locally grounded identity serves as a starting point for effective internationalisation.

Polish universities presented their offer under the auspices of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) at the joint national stand “Study & Research in Poland”. The conference provided an opportunity for numerous meetings with academic partners from around the world, as well as with universities affiliated within the UNIC Alliance. Discussions focused on opportunities for developing international cooperation, joint research projects and academic exchange. We hope that the established contacts and the conversations will develop into fruitful collaboration in the future.

NAFSA – Association of International Educators is the world’s largest organisation dedicated to international education and academic exchange. Each year, it organises the prestigious NAFSA conference and fair, which brings together thousands of participants from across the globe, including representatives of universities, educational organisations, government institutions and private sector companies. The conference serves as an important platform for knowledge exchange and the establishment of partnerships in the field of global education.
