The study visit was organised by the Centre for the Management of Operations and Value Networks, represented by dr hab. Adam Sadowski, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, Head of the Centre, Dr Ryszard Jędrzejczak and Dr Zbigniew Galar. The purpose of the study visit was to present current research conducted at the unit and to exchange experiences in the context of joint research efforts within the framework of civil-military cooperation within the university. Particular attention was paid to the potential of using Big Data in operations management, the prospects for the development of air cargo transport in the context of the establishment of Port Polska, as well as operational management in the aviation industry, using the example of hazardous materials (DG) air logistics.
The second part of the study visit consisted of workshops and training sessions and took place at the headquarters of Vera Holding Sp. z o.o., which co-organised the event. The company representatives, including Michał Rączka, Drone Coordinator, Edyta Wiśniewska, President of Vera Holding Sp. z o.o., and Adam Wiśniewski, Vice President of Vera Holding Sp. z o.o., presented the main challenges facing the company's drone business model. After a short UAV pilot training session, all event participants had an opportunity to practically test the technical capabilities of various types of drones during test flights.
Ferier Sp. z o.o., a company active in the airline catering and air cargo transport sectors, was the event partner.
