McCormick Patronage Lecture Hall at the UniLodz Faculty of Management Is Now Open!

McCormick & Company, Incorporated, a global leader in spices and flavour solutions, and the Faculty of Management of the University of Lodz have officially opened the McCormick lecture hall. The event took place on 9 June 2026.

The initiative reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to developing cooperation between business and the academic community, as well as to supporting competences and skills that respond to future needs. It also confirms McCormick’s long-standing presence in Łódź and the company’s consistent investment in local talent and education.

The partnership between McCormick and the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz is one example of the company’s strategy for developing external relations. Guided by its purpose of “bringing enjoyment to life by uniting people, ideas and opportunities that shape the future of communities”, the cooperation focuses on creating space for both professional and personal development.
It is also an expression of McCormick Łódź’s commitment to building strong relationships with the academic community.
McCormick has been a member of the Business Council of the Faculty of Management, actively participating in discussions on curriculum development, labour market expectations and the competences required in today’s professional environment since 2024. As part of the cooperation, the company delivers classes for students and funds awards for the best graduates during the Faculty Alumni Gala.

The opening of the McCormick lecture hall represents an investment in supporting students and strengthening the company’s presence at the University of Lodz. The space has been designed to inspire learning, collaboration and further development, while also presenting McCormick as a place of work, knowledge acquisition and professional growth.

The official opening ceremony of the McCormick lecture hall was attended by: Prof. dr hab. Ewa Walińska, Dean of the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz; Adam Pustelnik, First Deputy Mayor of the City of Łódź; Maciej Sysak, Chancellor of the University of Lodz; and Tanuja Singi, VP Global Business Solutions. The event was also attended by members of the Dean’s Board of the Faculty of Management, representatives of the University, staff of the Faculty of Management, McCormick leaders, and students involved in student science clubs along with their academic supervisors.

This lecture hall is a reflection of our long-term commitment to the development of Łódź and our belief that investing in talent today helps shape the leaders of tomorrow. We are proud of our partnership with the University of Lodz and look forward with enthusiasm to the further development of this cooperation in the years to come

Following the official opening, McCormick and the Faculty of Management also organised a discussion panel entitled Business–Academia Roundtable, dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence-related competences essential for future generations of employees. The meeting of representatives from academia and business provided an excellent opportunity to discuss how educational programmes can evolve in response to the dynamically changing needs of the labour market and technological development. Participants exchanged experiences regarding future professional competences and ways of preparing students and specialists for the opportunities and challenges associated with the development of AI.

The event under the slogan “Give your career more flavour” also featured a special student zone offering career development advice, discussions on future competences, career consultations and CV analysis, interactive competitions, sensory workshops and prizes, including McCormick spices.
