The meeting was opened by the Vice-Dean for Quality of Education, Dr Sebastian Latocha, who emphasised the importance of cooperation between the academic community and institutions engaged in historical research and military archival studies.
The Faculty's guests included Dr Mariusz Mróz – Head of the Historical Research Department at the Military Historical Office – and Katarzyna Kucharska, Head of the Publishing and Knowledge Dissemination Department. They presented the activities of the Military Historical Office as an institution dedicated to researching the history of the Polish Armed Forces, maintaining military archival collections, and conducting academic and publishing work.
During the meeting, participants learned about opportunities for working with archival materials and how military documents help reconstruct the histories of soldiers, the development of military units, and the course of military campaigns. The speakers also presented practical aspects of working at the Military Historical Office, highlighting career development opportunities for graduates of history and related fields.
The publishing activities of the Office were also discussed, including the journal “Przegląd Historyczno-Wojskowy”, as well as potential directions for cooperation between the Military Historical Office and the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the University of Lodz.

The meeting provided not only an opportunity to learn about the work of the Military Historical Office, but also a space for discussion about future initiatives and possibilities for cooperation. We hope that the event will mark the beginning of interesting joint academic and educational projects.
