Not Just Screenings. Discover Camera Action Festival from Behind the Scenes

The University of Lodz once again joins forces with the Camera Action Festival, supporting an initiative that has been bringing together the film, academic and cultural communities for years. This year’s edition of the festival will take place between 22 and 25 October 2026, and taking part can mean much more than attending screenings. Recruitment for the volunteer team is now open. It is an opportunity for those who would like to go behind the scenes of one of Poland's most important film events. Volunteers can get involved in areas related to audience services, festival information, media communication and audience research, gaining valuable experience in the organisation of a major cultural event.

Volunteering at the Camera Action Festival is an opportunity to gain experience, meet interesting people and see what the organisation of a cultural event looks like from the inside. Every role matters.

You can join one of four sections:

  • Information Section (help desk: issuing accreditations and helping festival-goers navigate the festival programme),
  • Audience Services Section (checking accreditations and tickets, ensuring audience comfort),
  • Media Section (preparing reviews and reports on festival events),
  • Audience Research Section (talking to participants about their festival experiences).

This is an opportunity not only to gain experience in organising cultural events, but also to get to know the festival team and participants and exchange views on films. During breaks from their assigned duties, volunteers can attend film screenings, discussion panels and accompanying events free of charge.

For students, there is also the possibility of having the volunteer work recognised as an internship and receiving a certificate confirming participation in the volunteering programme.

Applications are open until 30 September 2026. Detailed information about the recruitment process and the application form are available on the Camera Action Festival website.
