Predatory Publishing Practices – Journals Verification

The problem of so-called predatory journals is causing increasing concern in the scientific community. In relation to this phenomenon, the University of Lodz staff and doctoral students can count on the support from the university.

On request, the University of Lodz prepares analyses of the indicated journals in terms of detecting potential dishonest publication practices. In particular, changes in the frequency of published issues, the amount of published content, as well as the verifiability of: the review process, editorial team composition, indexability in databases and bibliometric indices are reviewed.

The analysis effect will be drawing attention to signals that should warn against publishing in a questionable periodical.

The service is already available – it is free of chargé for the University of Lodz Staff and doctoral students.
