The "Pole of the Year in Italy and the World" competition is an initiative of the Polish Association in Calabria (Associazione dei Polacchi in Calabria), whose aim is to activate the Polish community in Italy and other countries around the world. Each year, the Association selects a Pole of the Year in six categories. In one of these categories, the second-degree award was awarded to Prof. Karolina Prykowska-Michalak, who, together with her team, conducts research on the theatre of Polish migrants around the world.

The competition jury has recognised, above all, the scientific achievements of the team led by Prof. Prykowska-Michalak and the results of their research to date. The achievements of our scientists contribute to shaping a positive image of Polish science.
