Professorial Nominations for the University of Lodz Academics in the Academic Year 2023/2024

Ten academics from the University of Lodz received professorial nominations from the hands of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda in the academic year 2023/2024. Employees of the University of Lodz Faculty of Philology and the University of Lodz Faculty of Law and Administration received the greatest number of nomination acts.

This is a unique achievement, which is a result of constant effort and dedication. It is evidence of passion and commitment to the development of science, also internationally. We would like to offer congratulations to our Professors and wish them further successes in their scientific careers!

University of Lodz currently employs 206 people with the title of Professor. Pursuant to the so-called Act 2.0 (the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science), the title of Professor may be conferred on a person who holds the academic degree of doctor habilitated, has had outstanding scientific achievements in the country or abroad, and has participated in the work of research teams implementing projects financed through domestic or foreign competitions or has done scientific internships in scientific institutions, including foreign ones, or has conducted scientific research or development work at universities or scientific institutions, including foreign ones.  

The initiation of the procedures for conferment of professorial title shall be carried out upon the application referred to in Article 228(1) of Act 2.0. For more information, visit the website of the Council for Scientific Excellence.
