The choir’s repertoire is a diverse mix of styles and emotions. The concert programme will include pieces particularly important for the LGBTQ+ community, such as “Labour” by Paris Paloma, well-known global hits such as “True Colours”, as well as original compositions by choir members. The artists also remain connected to their roots – the concert will also feature Ukrainian folk songs, including “Ой дай бог”.
In recent years, Queer Essence has performed on numerous European stages, representing Ukraine at prestigious events such as Various Voices in Bologna (2023), the Central and Eastern Europe LGBTQ+ Choir Festival in Kraków (2024), and the Manchester Pipe Up! Festival in the United Kingdom (2025). The Łódź audience has already had the opportunity to meet the group during concerts at the Marek Edelman Dialogue Centre and at the Piotrkowska 17 artistic café.
For the choir members, every performance is more than just a concert – it is an opportunity to meet the audience, share music and build relationships through experiencing emotions together. This year’s return to Łódź precedes their trip to Brussels for the international LGBTQ+ Choir Festival.
We invite you to the Jaracz Theatre on 23 June. Let the magic of voice, music and togetherness bring us together that evening.
Tickets for the concert are available for purchase via the Jaracz Theatre’s online ticketing service.
The event is held with the support of the University of Lodz Equality Council.
