Rektor UŁ na czele Komisji ds. Nauki KRASP

Rector of the University of Lodz, Professor Elżbieta Żądzińska has been elected President of the Science Committee of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP). The full composition/membership? of the Committee will be determined soon. The body gives its opinions, among others, on documents pertaining to the postponed evaluation of scientific disciplines. In her previous term at the University of Lodz, Rector Elżbieta Żądzińska held the position of Vice-Rector for Science. Her appointment as President of the KRASP Science Committee demonstrates that the wide-ranging measures implemented by the University of Lodz in pursuit of the strategy of a research university have been appreciated.

 

The UL Rector Professor Elżbieta Żądzińska is a lecturer and researcher associated with the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection at the University of Lodz. As Vice-Rector for Science at the University of Lodz, she coordinated implementation of the strategy for raising the scientific potential of the university. The result of her work is a dynamically increasing number of grant projects carried out at the university, as well as a high number of publications by our researchers in the best journals and publishing houses in Poland and abroad.  Professor Elżbieta Żądzińska, as the Rector of the University of Lodz, puts emphasis on using the research and teaching potential of the university.  She sees the University of Lodz as a community the strength of which lies in the highest quality of education and research. The goal of her term of office is to use and deepen this potential, which will enable University of Lodz to become one of the leading universities not only in Poland, but also abroad.

The Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland is a body bringing together and coordinating the work of Polish higher education institutions. Its objective is to create a coherent system of Polish higher education. KRASP safeguards academic values, protects the autonomy of higher education and high quality of education and research.

In the previous term, the KRASP Science Committee assessed, among others, the Act 2.0, regulations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education pertaining to the subsidies for scientific development and development works, competitions of the National Science Centre and other grant programmes aimed at increasing the research potential of Polish universities.  The Committee makes efforts to improve the quality of Polish science by assessing and creating systemic solutions for higher education institutions at home.
