We encourage you to follow the proceedings of the Polish-Ukrainian Historical Congress in Baranów Sandomierski, the largest meeting of historians from Poland and Ukraine to date, dedicated to joint reflection on the history of relations between the two nations.
The event will be attended by approximately 100 researchers from Poland and Ukraine, representing various academic centres and historiographic traditions.
The conference, which runs until Friday (6-8 May), will feature nine panel discussions devoted to key periods and issues in the shared history of Poland and Ukraine – from the Middle Ages to modern times.
One of the thematic sessions, titled "From the Polish People's Republic and the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic to the Third Polish Republic and Independent Ukraine (20th-21st Centuries)" – held on Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – will feature representatives from the University of Lodz: Prof. Sławomir M. Nowinowski, Head of the Jerzy Giedroyc Centre at the University of Lodz, and Prof. Przemysław Żurawski vel Grajewski.
The event is organised by the Mieroszewski Centre and the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.
