Krzysztof Pabis, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz and Vice-Rector for Popularisation of Science and Education, who has also authored the texts that provide contextual support for the works on display. The exploration of transhumanism as a future stage of human evolution is central to my artistic research. Inspired by modern prosthetics, neural interfaces and medical innovations, I challenge viewers to reflect on the limits of humanity, the ethical implications of technological transformation and the potential social inequalities stemming from access to these solutions

– this is how Klaudia Stańko, the artist, describes the exhibition. The works on display were a part of her winning exhibition in the Prime Time 2024 competition for the best diploma (BA diploma) from the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź. She has also won the University of Lodz Award, which resulted in the exhibition we now encourage you to see.

Exploring the new frontiers of humanity

The essence of the project is to draw attention to the increasingly new reality surrounding us and the ethical dimensions of the ongoing changes. "Tomorrow You" also addresses the social consequences of transhumanism. The project raises questions about social justice, the redefinition of roles and the need for ethical regulation in the face of changes that could permanently transform the structure of society.

About the artist: Klaudia Stańko

Klaudia Stańko is a student at the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź, pursuing a second-cycle degree in Textiles and Interior Design. She won first place in the Prime Time 2024 competition for the best BA degree from the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź and from the University of Lodz. She has participated in international exhibitions, including in Tokyo, China and Italy. She has received numerous awards for her achievements in experimental textiles and print. She combines traditional crafts with new media, exploring speculative narratives related to the future and transhumanism. Her work analyses and connects the intersections between new and old notions of weaving.

Scientific commentary

The exhibition will be accompanied by a scholarly perspective in the form of commentary prepared by dr hab. Krzysztof Pabis, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz and Vice-Rector for Popularization of Science and Education. These texts will introduce the exhibition audience to key ideas of transhumanism, providing a contextual supplement to the works presented. Vice-Rector Krzysztof Pabis will also deliver a short power speech at the exhibition opening.
