UniLodz Rector Participates in the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities Meeting in Kraków

Shared priorities and challenges facing university administration, an analysis of universities’ financial performance, the draft regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education on the evaluation of scientific activity, and the funding of higher education institutions in the context of demographic change are the key topics of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities (KRUP) meeting currently taking place in Kraków. The Rector of the University of Lodz, Prof. Rafał Matera, is also participating in the discussions.

The rectors also heard reports from the chairs of KRUP committees, including, for the first time, a report from the newly established University Administration Committee. Discussions also focused on the availability and funding of financial assistance grants for doctoral students.

Today, the rectors are taking part in the ceremonial inauguration of the 2026/2027 academic year at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków, which is hosting this KRUP meeting. The ceremony is combined with the opening of the university’s new campus.
