The meeting focused on the role of young people in shaping public policy and their engagement in civic issues. During the event, the students presented the results of their research conducted among and with young people, as part of the YOUROPE: Visionary Roadmaps – Crafting an Inclusive and Participatory European Democracy with Youth and Communities (YOUROPE) project, which has been implemented at the Faculty of Educational Sciences since 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Mariusz Granosik.
The event was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, establish contacts with representatives of youth organisations and researchers from all over Europe, and to reflect on how the knowledge and activity of young people can actually influence decision-making processes at the local, national and European levels.
The participation of students in this event is in line with the mission of social pedagogy, which supports the development of civic, social and research competences of young people, encouraging them to actively participate in public life and co-create democratic societies.
The International Day of Ending Poverty was celebrated in front of the Palace of Europe yesterday, on 15 October 2025. Students from the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Lodz read a poem written by a girl from Senegal.
