During the AZS (Academic Sports Association) National Inclusive Championships, athletes representing the University of Lodz achieved very good results in swimming events, proudly representing both the university and the academic community of persons with disabilities.
An outstanding performance was delivered by Vanessa Misiek, who took 1st place in the 50‑metre freestyle and 2nd place in the 100‑metre freestyle.
Further success was achieved by Natalia Wardziak, who finished 2nd in the 50‑metre backstroke.
Lena Sęk also reached the podium, claiming 2nd place in the 50‑metre breaststroke.
A very strong performance was recorded by Jan Sokołowski, who secured 3rd place in the 50‑metre freestyle.
These achievements clearly demonstrate the important role that sport plays in the lives of persons with disabilities.
The AZS National Inclusive Championships have provided a space for social and physical activation, as well as for building relationships between participants from all over Poland since 2016. Participation in the Championships offers opportunities to develop sporting passions, overcome personal limitations and strengthen a sense of belonging to the academic community.
The AZS National Inclusive Championships are financed by the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, and the promotion of physical activity and the increased accessibility of sport for all members of academic life is their primary objective.
We would like to offer our congratulations to all the athletes on their achievements and wish them continued success!
