The WIOSNA Association is one of the largest non-governmental organisations in Poland, best known for the Noble Gift initiative. It also carries out other nationwide social projects that enable hundreds of thousands of people to become involved in helping others. The Association’s activities are based primarily on the work of volunteers and the support offered by individual and corporate donors.
A Socially Engaged University
The University of Lodz demonstrates its social responsibility by building partnerships with the wider community and supporting initiatives that strengthen civic engagement. Relationships with non-governmental organisations constitute an important element of the culture of cooperation fostered at the university and provide a means of promoting attitudes based on shared responsibility and solidarity.
We have been involved in the Noble Gift initiative for more than 10 years. During this time, the UniLodz community, including students, members of staff and organisational units, has repeatedly taken part in preparing parcels for families experiencing difficult life circumstances. This year’s support for volunteer training is another element of this long-standing cooperation.
More information about the University of Lodz’s social engagement activities can be found on the Social Committment of the University of Lodz webpage.
