As a priority the International Hub will focus on two tasks: professional translation of documentation used to employ international scientists, as well as preparation of materials that present achievements and development directions of the University of Lodz for employees who participate in international forums (conferences, trips as part of projects).
- International Hub is to be a unit that brings together and organises activities of the International Students Office, Promotion Centre, Internal Control and Analysis Department and other units of UL that operate within the area of internationalisation. The important thing is that we will efficiently supplement and develop the so far achievements and expand the canon of good practices. We will also focus on simplifying internal procedures and actions that need it. We will take care of increasing visibility of the University of Lodz on the international scene by playing the role of the university diplomatic mission - explains dr Magdalena Nowacka, the head of the International Hub.
The Hub will start its operation in a form of a team of several members. There are many more planned activities but they will be implemented gradually, after reaching the priority objectives mentioned above.
- The key issue for us is to develop a culture of internationalisation. University of Lodz is to strive for a position of undisputably international university, open to international students and employees, facilitating studying and conducting research as part of academic exchange. We will do everything to expand our offer effectively - says prof. Łukasz Bogucki, the UL Vice-Rector for International Relations and the International Hub organiser.
The new unit of the University of Lodz is soon starting conversations with representatives of Central Administration and Faculties so as to get to know the most important needs of the UL community.
