The protagonist of the evening – Dorota Brolik-Bekrycht – is a graduate of the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz. She has been employed at her alma mater since 1994. Currently, she teaches at the Faculty of Performing Arts. From the very beginning of her professional career, chamber music and collaboration with vocalists have remained at the core of her interests. She has repeatedly accompanied students in vocal competitions, receiving distinctions for her work as an accompanist. She has recorded programmes for radio and TVP Łódź. She is the originator and performer of numerous original artistic projects, including the concert series: Klasycznie i nie tylko, Muzyka na 2 i 3 głosy and Spotkania z muzyką. In 2017, she released her original album “…stworzona, by tworzyć”. Her subsequent publications include Pieśni i myśli (2019) and Wokalizy pomoniuszkowskie na głos lub flet, lub klarnet i fortepian (2020).

Vocal lyric poetry constitutes a particular area of the pianist’s interest. She analyses songs in terms of their structure, expression and the interdependence of performance parts. In 2023, the world premiere of her chamber opera Aletheia – Dzieci chaosu took place, composed for two pianos with computer processing, soloists and dancers.
