The International Café Series Comes to an End – Thank You for Joining Us!

The meetings brought together both international and Polish employees of the University of Lodz as well as doctoral candidates. The series provided an excellent opportunity not only for networking and community building, but above all for gaining practical information to support academic career development and everyday life at the university.

Each meeting focused on a different topic. Participants had the opportunity to meet representatives of the Project Support Centre, who presented funding opportunities and research grant schemes. Experts from the International Centre shared information on international mobility programmes and opportunities for study and research visits abroad. Another valuable component of the series was meetings with representatives of the Doctoral Schools and the UL Welcome Point, who provided practical guidance on residence legalisation procedures, administrative formalities and support available to those beginning employment or doctoral studies at the UL.

A particularly important part of the programme was the meetings with mentors – experienced researchers affiliated with the University of Lodz. They shared their personal academic career journeys, experiences gained through international collaboration and advice on planning a professional career path.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all participants representing different countries, cultures and academic disciplines for their presence, active engagement and for helping to create an open and welcoming atmosphere at every meeting.

We would also like to thank all speakers, mentors and UL representatives for sharing their knowledge and experience.

We look forward to seeing you at future International Café meetings in the next academic year!
