From Research to Collective Action
The Forum forms part of the international YOUROPE project, carried out under the Horizon Europe programme. The project is being implemented in seven European countries and aims to create spaces where young people’s voices are heard and taken into account in decision-making processes.
As part of the project, Pedagogy students conducted research into young people’s experiences, needs and expectations related to education. They are now taking the next step by inviting young people to engage in a shared discussion about what works well in schools, what could be improved, and what education might look like in the future.
This student-led initiative demonstrates that the university provides space for ideas and activities originating from students themselves. Their involvement in the YOUROPE project has enabled them to combine the knowledge and experience gained during their studies with meaningful real-world action.
Young People as Active Participants, Not Just Listeners
The Forum has been designed to ensure that young people are not merely recipients of discussion but active contributors to conversations about the future of education. The programme includes, among other activities, a presentation of the photography projects “Photovoice: Szkoła oczami młodzieży” [Photovoice: School Through Young People’s Eyes], a panel discussion, and a debate involving the audience.
Strategic workshops, during which participants will work in groups to develop their own proposals for change in schools will also be an important element of the event. At the end of the Forum, they will present their ideas and attendees will vote on the proposed solutions.
Who Can Take Part?
The Forum is open to high school students, university students, teachers, pedagogues, psychologists and representatives of the political community. This will create a space where diverse perspectives and experiences can meet, all with the shared goal of identifying solutions for the future of education.
