The Student Clinic of Finance officially began its activity on 1 April 2015. Students’ activity is performed  under the substantive guidance of employees of the Institute of Finance.

The objectives of the Student Clinic of Finance include:
1. to enable students to acquire knowledge and experience in practical functioning of financial services;
2. to improve social awareness and knowledge of finance in a broad sense;
3. to offer help to poor or in difficult economic situation;
4. to promote the Faculty of Economics and Sociology and the University of Lodz.

The Student Clinic of Finance provides free of charge consultations (mainly for elderly and poor people) concerning services offered by financial institutions. The areas of consultations include: credit products, loans, insurance, saving and investment products and tax issues.

The aim of consultations is  to inform and to educate and students focus on explaining doubts and circumstances of the case presented for analysis as well as potential ways to proceed with it. The consultations offered under the activity of the Student Clinic of Finance are provided by students of the University of Lodz.

How to get the advice offered by the Student Clinic of Finance?

In order to obtain advice one should visit the Clinic during on-call time, submit a completed application form, a declaration and copies of documents related to the case. Before using the services of the Clinic one should carefully study the rules of providing consultation and documents to sign. The time of waiting for a written consultation depends on the submission of a complete required documentation and the complexity of the case. The advice is free of charge.

The decision whether the case qualifies for the procedure of advice is made by the Supervisor and it is based on the application form submitted by the client. In cases of any doubts, the decision is made by the Coordinator of the Project. The Student Clinic of Finance is located at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at University of Lodz.

What does Student Clinic of Finance offer to students?

The Student Clinic of Finance is an innovative project in which students can develop their practical skills in the field of financial services. Numerous trainings and a direct contact with practitioners are a vital component of acquiring new skills. Every third Tuesday of the month (except for breaks and holidays) students have a unique opportunity to conduct consultations of the Clinic where under the patronage of employees of the Institute of Finance the advice is provided to its clients (mainly elderly and poor people).
