What is OTM-R?

OTM-R is a European standard for the recruitment of researchers promoted by the European Commission as part of the European Charter for Researchers. Its purpose is to create fair, transparent and internationally comparable recruitment procedures that:

  • ensure equal opportunities for all candidates;
  • support diversity and inclusiveness;
  • promote research and professional mobility;
  • enable candidates to be assessed on the basis of their actual competences and achievements;
  • enhance the attractiveness of research careers in Europe.

Our Principles

Recruitment processes at the University of Lodz are based on the following principles

Openness
Information about vacancies is published through publicly accessible national and international channels, also in English, on the UL website, in the Public Information Bulletin, the Academic Job Vacancy Database and the EURAXESS portal.

Transparency
Candidates receive information on the requirements, stages of the recruitment process, timelines and assessment criteria. Recruitment outcomes with justification for the decision are published in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Merit-Based Assessment
The assessment of candidates considers their publication record, research achievements quality, teaching activities, teamwork, project involvement, knowledge transfer, innovation activities and the societal impact of research.

Equal Opportunities
The University of Lodz opposes all forms of discrimination and promotes diversity throughout recruitment processes. Particular attention is paid to gender balance and to ensuring objective assessment of candidates.
