Scientific activity:

• Conducting research and scientific work (analysis of selected properties of clinical and environmental isolates of pathogenic bacteria from the genus Proteus - the phenomenon of producing membrane vesicles, territorial behavior; serological classification of the rods from the genera Proteus, Aeromonas; the phenomenon of calcium carbonate bioprecipitation; studies of the microbiota of selected extreme environments in Poland; analysis of the microbiota of selected animals; studies of microorganisms of aquatic and soil environments.
• Applying for research grants, managing them, performing research and organizational tasks.
• Publishing research results in the form of original and review scientific articles and national and international conference reports.
• Carrying out reviews of scientific publications, doctorates and grant applications.
• Establishing and maintaining national cooperation (currently: UMCS in Lublin, UJK in Kielce, Lodz University of Technology, IITD PAN in Wrocław, Faculty of Chemistry, UŁ) and international cooperation (currently: University of Coimbra, Portugal; Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, Russia - suspended due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine).
• Scientific internships (University of Coimbra, Portugal).

Teaching activities:

• Conducting didactic classes in the following fields: Microbiology, Chemical Analysis, Biotechnology, as well as classes at the BioMedChem Doctoral School in the University of Lodz (lectures, seminars, specialist workshops, supervision of master's theses, exercises, professional internships).
• Supervision of master's and bachelor's theses.
• Reviewing diploma theses (master's and bachelor's).

Organizational activity:

• Member of the Council of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection at the University of Lodz (since March 2018).
• Member of the Didactic Committee for the Microbiology Major (since September 2020).
• Member of the Senate Disciplinary Committee for PhD Students at the University of Lodz (term 2021 - 2024 and 2025-2028).
• Co-supervisor of the Student Scientific Society of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Lodz (research, summer science camps, classes for students and other activities promoting the University of Lodz) (since 2005).
• Supervisor and reviewer of student research grants at the University of Lodz.
• Activities promoting the University of Lodz (numerous lectures, workshops for students of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, the University of the Third Age; participation in the Festivals of Science, Technology and Art; annual participation in the Biologists' Nights, expert statements for the media and a documentary film).
• Co-organizer of several conferences and exhibitions at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz.
• Member of the Polish Society of Microbiologists since 2004, in the term 2008-2012 Secretary of the Board of the Łódź Branch of the PTM, in the term 2018-2022 member of the Audit Committee of the Łódź Branch of the PTM, in the term 2022-2026 Secretary of the Board of the Łódź Branch of the PTM.
