My research interests include social psychology, particularly the psychology of close relationships—marriage, cohabitation, same-sex relationships, and "dual-career" relationships; binational relationships, as well as risky behaviors; and the health and interpersonal relationships of single people. I analyze the processes occurring in close relationships, assessing their quality and durability. My recent research focuses on the importance of interpersonal commitment in marital and nonmarital relationships, and the phenomenon of oversexualization.
