Purpose of the Position
The Doctoral Researcher conducts an individual research project within the doctoral programme, engages in scientific, publication and academic activities, develops teaching competences, and participates in the organisational life of the unit. The purpose of the position is to complete a doctoral dissertation and to acquire advanced research, teaching and organisational skills.
conducting independent and collaborative research aligned with the doctoral project,
preparing and publishing research results in national and international journals,
preparing conference presentations, posters and talks,
active participation in national and international scientific conferences,
attending research seminars and meetings within the academic unit,
applying for research funding (university grants, national grants, international calls),
developing methodological and statistical competencies necessary for the dissertation.
teaching classes under the supervision of the academic mentor or supervisor,
preparing teaching materials,
holding student consultations,
enhancing teaching qualifications through relevant training and workshops.
participation in organisational tasks carried out within the unit (e.g., academic events, programme promotion),
attendance at mandatory doctoral training sessions,
collaboration with academic and administrative staff,
representing the University and adhering to principles of academic integrity and ethics.
Scope of Duties in the Area of Teaching Responsibilities:
conducting teaching classes carried out under the employment relationship in the annual workload specified by the Senate, in full-time, part-time, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, in accordance with distance-learning methods and techniques;
timely preparation of all academic documentation required for the course of studies;
participation in the development and updating of curricula and teaching plans;
administering assessments and completing the grading of conducted classes;
supervising students’ coursework and semester projects;
preparing teaching materials for the courses conducted;
holding consultations with students;
ensuring high quality of teaching and compliance of didactic work with the principles of the internal quality assurance system;
improving one’s professional qualifications in the areas of courses taught;
performing other teaching duties assigned by the immediate supervisor;
conducting consultations with students for at least 2 hours per week.
conducting and participating in scientific research and development work;
obtaining research funding by applying to competitive grant schemes;
disseminating research or development results through publication;
active participation in scientific conferences and seminars financed within tasks carried out by the unit or on other terms adopted by the University;
participation in the commercialisation of research results (patents, protective rights, implementations);
improving one’s qualifications, including for the purpose of obtaining subsequent academic degrees and the academic title.
work in the University’s collegial bodies as well as in faculty, senate and rectoral committees;
participation in recruitment committees and examination committees in the student admission process;
organising and participating in promotional and presentation activities on behalf of the University;
participation in conferences, symposia, seminars and other forms of academic activity;
performing functions assigned by supervisors, including supervision of students’ professional internships;
undertaking other organisational activities aimed at improving the functioning of the University;
performing other organisational duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
