Research: Behavioural and cognitive ecology (invertebrates and vertebrates); model organisms: jumping spiders (Salticidae) and other arthropods. Parasite–host interactions: blood-feeding arthropods (insects, arachnids) and their vertebrate hosts (birds, mammals). Biodiversity conservation, including in urban areas.
Teaching: BSc and MSc students in the following fields in UŁ: Biology, Environmental Protection, EcoCity, Biomonitoring and Ecological Biotechnologies, Biotechnology, Microbiology; teaching PhD students in Doctoral Schools; teaching BSc and MSc students of UNIC (European University of Post-Industrial Cities) https://www.unic.eu/en.

Scientific societies: The Committee of Organismal Biology of Polish Academy of Sciences (member since 2020, secretary since 2024). The Committee of Zoology of Polish Academy of Sciences (secretary 2012-2017). The Scientific Society of Łódź (member since 2015, chairman of Department III - Mathematical and Natural Sciences since 2024). European Arachnological Society (member since 1998, member of EAS General Council: 2002-2005).
