Graduate of Polish Philology at the University of Lodz (1996), specializing in editing and teaching. He wrote his master's thesis in literary theory under the supervision of prof. dr hab. Teresa Cieślikowska. In May 1997 he completed the Administrative and Economic Manager of Companies course, then he started working at the Export Development Bank (BRE). He was employed at the University of Lodz as an assistant doctoral student in March 1998. He obtained his doctorate in 2003 based on the dissertation Elements of Rhetoric in Samuel Twardowski's Occasional Works (supervisor: prof. dr hab. Jan Okoń, reviewers: prof. dr hab. Renarda Ocieczek, prof. dr Jerzy Starnawski). He obtained his habilitation degree in 2013 based on his dissertation Marcin Paszkowski — occasional poet and moralist from the first half of the 17th century (reviewers: dr hab. prof. UAM Katarzyna Meller, prof. dr hab. Jan Okoń, dr hab. prof. UŁ Krystyna Płachcińska, prof. dr hab. Elżbieta Sarnowska-Temeriusz). Since September 2017, he has been employed as an associate professor. Positions held: deputy director of the Institute of Polish Philology in the periods 1.07.2009-30.09.2012, 1.04.2013-30.09.2017, head of the Department of Old Literature and Auxiliary Sciences since 1.10.2018, and from 1.06.2019 to the present, head of the Department of Old Literature, Editing and Auxiliary Sciences.
The main areas of interest are 17th century Polish literature, the literary output of Samuel Twardowski, Marcin Paszkowski and Aleksander Gwagnin, Old Polish epic, occasional literature, funeral sermons, historical genology and editing of old texts. In addition, Old Polish chronicles and letter books (17th–18th centuries).
