Thesis: Osmoregulation strategies: comparative and integrative approaches to assess the connectivity of four estuarine annelid species.
2013 - 2015: Master degree in Marine Biology at the Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna (Italy)
Dissertation: Polychaete Fauna of the Northwest Portuguese Continental Shelf: ecology, diversity and distribution.
2010 - 2013: Bachelor degree in Natural Science at the Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro (Italy)
Bachelor thesis: Taxonomic composition and distribution of the sponge community in the Apulian Coralligenous.
INTERESTS
My main interests are transmembrane proteins related to osmoregulation and thermal stress, above all in polychaetes annelids. In research, I love to combine different approaches (from experimental, to microscopy and molecular one) to better understand the mechanisms involved in the adaptations of the target species.
Other passions? Travelling, dancing and being surrounded by nature and friends.
ACHIEVEMENTS
2023-03 | Recipient of the grant IDUB 2022 for young researchers. Project title "Comparative and integrative approach to assess the osmoregularion of two Ponto-Caspian invasive species focusing on two transmembrane proteins".
2022-05 | Second place award for best poster at the "International Conference on DNA Barcoding and Biodiversity: Sofia, Bulgaria".
2019-08 | Honorable Mention Student Oral Presentation Award at "13th International Polychaete Conference: Long Beach, California, US".
