On 27 June 2022 the honoured individuals after 50 years were:
- prof. Zdzisława Janowska (Faculty of Management)
- prof. Stanisław Płaza (Faculty of Chemistry)
- prof. Czesław Sikorski (Faculty of Management)
The ceremony was an opportunity to meet, often after many years, with co-workers and alumni, an occasion for conclusions, recalling the past and positive emotions.
During the meeting we could listen to solemn laudations and speeches of the graduates, prepared by their supervisors. The Rector of the University of Lodz presented each graduate with a commemorative diploma signed by herself, the dean of a given faculty and the supervisor.
The custom of ceremonial renewal of doctorates was initiated by the Senate of the University of Lodz in 2000. So far, 94 outstanding representatives of the University of Lodz, who have made a special contribution to Polish science or culture, have been honoured this way.
