Firma GXO partnerem UŁ w rozwoju edukacji logistyki

GXO Logistic Inc., the world's largest contract logistics operator, has established cooperation with the Department of Logistics and Innovations at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz. The cooperation was established as part of the Career Academy programme, whose goal is to familiarise students with the logistics industry and was inaugurated on 20 February 2023.

Development opportunity for students of logistics at the University of Lodz

The new partnership with the University of Lodz expands our ability to share knowledge and present attractive professional development opportunities in logistics to the most talented students in Poland. We look forward to cooperating with the University of Lodz, whose students will learn about the interesting and dynamic supply chain industry and prepare for a career. GXO has five logistics centres in the area of Lodz serving FMCG and DIY clients, with women acting as centre directors and holding other management positions. This illustrates GXO's commitment to diversity. We also invest in technology and automation using our industry-leading experience and knowledge to create an attractive workplace

– said Joanna Borkowska-Iwanek, HR GXO Director for Poland and Czech Republic.

The Career Academy programme was developed by GXO's Operations and HR Department so as to enhance educational and professional opportunities. The company started its implementation at the beginning of 2022 in cooperation with the Kozminski University in Warsaw and the University of Economics in Katowice. Since then, online and on-site lectures, visits and internships at GXO logistics centres as well as various recruitment opportunities have been successfully organised for students. GXO has also become a partner of the Logistics Project Management study programme.

We are very pleased to be partnering with GXO. This cooperation will help us strengthen our directional long-term project – Logistics Practice Academy, as part of which students learn about the practical aspects of logistics. Together, we will support our students in developing the skills needed by logisticians and show them career opportunities, which is particularly important at a time when highly efficient and resilient supply chains are increasingly critical to the global economy. The signed agreement also demonstrates the growing importance of university-business networking
