The summer school, “Migration, Diversity and Practical Engagement with Migrant Communities”, covered topics including:
- migration policy in Europe,
- migrants’ rights and international standards of protection,
- the operation of international courts,
- intercultural communication,
- diversity in the workplace,
- practical aspects of working with people with migration experience.
Taking part in the summer school is not only about gaining knowledge through lectures – the programme was enriched with workshops, case-study analysis, simulations and teamwork in international groups.
As a result, participants can develop competencies that are valuable both in academic work and in their future professional careers.
The summer school is organised within the framework of UNIC – European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition and is supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). The event is coordinated by Dr Izabela Florczak.
