MS Office - nowe konta na UŁ

With the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year, our University will introduce improvements in IT services for the entire UŁ community - students, PhD students, administrative and research staff. From now on, you will be able to use the extended and free MS Office 365 Professional Plus package. Everyone will be able to install the package on their private devices. Improvements will also allow for faster and easier communication via MS Teams application.

 

FAQ for a student/doctoral student of the University of Lodz

1. How do I check my new student/doctoral login?

  • go to https://logowanie.uni.lodz.pl/
  • under the ID field, click on the Login Reminder link
  • in the Private e-mail address field, enter your private e-mail address (provided during recruitment and registered with the USOS), check the box "I am not a robot", click "Confirm"
  • A message will be sent to your private e-mail with information about the new login. If you didn't get it, check the Spam and Trash folders

Remember that your login is created according to ULxxxxxxx@edu.uni.lodz.pl format.

2. How to set a password for the UŁ student/doctoral student login?

  • Go to https://logowanie.uni.lodz.pl/
  • under the field "Password" click the Forgot your password? link
  • in the ID field enter the new student login, for example: ULxxxxxxx@edu.uni.lodz.pl , check the box "I'm not a robot", click "Confirm".
  • a message with a link to change your password will be sent to your private email

NOTICE: The password must meet security requirements (min. 8 characters, upper and lower case letters, numbers; the password must not contain special characters, names such as first name, last name, PESEL number; the new password must not be similar to the previous ones)

3. Error message: The email provided is not associated with the edu.uni.lodz.pl account.

Check if you have entered your private e-mail address correctly. The message may also mean that your USOS account is connected to your other private e-mail address or does not have one at all.

What you need to do:

  • if you are a first-year student, please contact the faculty office as soon as possible to provide your e-mail address
  • If you are a student of the following years or a doctoral student, you can change your private e-mail address yourself if you remember your previous login imie.nazwisko@unilodz.eu . Log in with these credentials to USOSweb and go to the "My USOSweb” tab. At the bottom of the page, in the right corner, you will find the "User Information" bar. Click on the my profile page link. You can change your private e-mail address there

After about an hour after changing your e-mail address, you can proceed to recover your new login and password.

4. Error message: The Active Directory domain entered is incorrect

Check if you have entered your login in the @edu.uni.lodz.pl domain correctly.

The login consists of the letters "UL" and seven digits that contain your USOS ID (example: UL0234654). What is a USOS ID? It's your individual ID, which you received during your first admission.

NOTICE: Your login DOES NOT INCLUDE THE DIGITS OF YOUR ALBUM NUMBER

5. You can change your account password ONLY at https://logowanie.uni.lodz.pl/

Remember that you log in to all systems of the UŁ with the same login and password. If you want to change your account password, you can do so only at logowanie.uni.lodz.pl.

  • Change password - click if you remember the previous password and you want to change it to a new one. Fill in the fields as described
  • Forgot your password? - click if you don't remember your previous password and you want to set a new one. Fill in the fields as described

Never change your UŁ e-mail password through the MS Office website.

6. Error message: The provided authentication data cannot be considered valid.

Check if you have entered your login and password correctly. Remember that your login is created according to ULxxxxxxx@edu.uni.lodz.pl format.

If the message still appears despite the data being entered correctly, clear the browser history. The system may remember previous credentials.

Such a message also appears when the password does not meet security requirements. Change the password to a new one again.

7. I have not received received the login recovery and/or password change message at my private e-mail box.

Check your Spam and Trash folders in your private e-mail.

  • Can you see a login reminder message? Check if you have entered your private e-mail address correctly. Go to https://logowanie.uni.lodz.pl/ and click the login reminder link
  • Can you see a message with a link to change your password? Check if you have correctly entered your new student/doctoral login for the UŁ. Go to https://logowanie.uni.lodz.pl/ and click the forgot your password? link

If the data you enter is correct, and you still do not receive a message, it may mean that your USOS account is connected to your other private e-mail address or not connected at all.

What should I do now?

  • if you are a first-year student, please contact the faculty office as soon as possible to provide your e-mail address
  • If you are a student of the following years or a doctoral student, you can change your private e-mail address yourself if you remember your previous login imie.nazwisko@unilodz.eu . Log in with these credentials to USOSweb and go to the "My USOSweb” tab. 8. I want to change the name that appears in my account.

Do you want to change your name or noticed a mistake in it? Visit faculty office. An employee will change it for you. Make sure the name is spelled correctly and submit a request to change the email account alias to: helpdesk@uni.lodz.pl

9. I have a new login and password, but I cannot log in to MS Office (Outlook, Teams).

Remember that the same login and password are used for all systems of the UŁ, including Office 365 mail client. Check if you can log in to USOSweb with your login and password. If so, it means that your data is correct.

MS Office remembers your previous logins and passwords, so before logging in with new data, it is recommended that you manually log out of all MS Office applications (including Outlook, Teams) and clear your browser history and delete temporary files.

10. I've logged in, but I cannot participate in online classes using Teams.

Check if you have received an invitation from your teacher to your UŁ address, which was created according to the ULxxxxxxx@edu.uni.lodz.pl format.

Check if you have been granted access to the class team in MS Teams. If not, urgently explain with the Faculty Office whether you have been assigned to the appropriate program. Then ask your tutor if they have sent you an invitation to an online class and if you are assigned to their class group.
