Sportowe sukcesy studentów UŁ

The University of Lodz students put on a great show at the 67th 67th PZLA Polish Indoor Athletics Championships, which held last weekend in Toruń. The athletes won four medals – one in the seniors and three in the youth categories.

Aleksandra Nowakowska and Zuzanna Sztachańska

Aleksandra Nowakowska won the bronze medal in the triple jump competition. The student of the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz improved her personal best of 2021 by one centimetre, gaining 13.14m. In the long jump, Nowakowska was eighth. A new personal best of 13.13 m in the triple jump was also achieved by Zuzanna Sztachańska, who was ranked fifth among seniors and became the Polish champion in the youth category. In the long jump, the athlete from Lodz Academic Sports Association placed seventh, also with a personal best of 5.96m.

Weronika Kaźmierczak equalled her personal record in the high jump with 1.78m and finished just off the podium. In the under-23 category, Kaźmierczak reached for the bronze medal.

Jakub Augustyniak placed fifth in the 800m final. Among youths, he was runner-up over this distance.

The personal record in the preliminaries of the 60m Hurdles – 8.41s was set by Weronika Barcz, confidently advancing to the final where she did not finish.
