Sukces UŁ na AMP w judo

The Polish Academic Judo Championships have come to an end. Competitors from the University of Lodz have been successful. In the universities’ classification, the UL students won the gold medal, while in the general classification of the University of Lodz, they took high – the fourth place.

 

Nearly 200 students from 28 universities took part in the championships. Within this good company the team of the University of Lodz was represented by 5 competitors (both men and women). All of them won medals in individual classification.

Silver medals were won by Patrycja Skupień in the weight class up to 52 kg (Faculty of Management), Magdalena Jarkowska – 78 kg (Faculty of Philology), Bartosz Ponichtera – 81 kg (Faculty of Geigraphical Sciences) and Mateusz Resztak – 100 kg (Faculty of Law and Administration). Anna Jagiełło – an employee of the Physical Education and Sports Centre won a bronze medal in the weight category up to 63 kg. The coach of the championship judo team is Leszek Piąstka (head of the Physical Education and Sports Centre, UL).
