UŁ partnerem Letniego Festiwalu Filmowego TME Polówka

University of Lodz has joined the group of partners of the TME Polówka Summer Film Festival. For the first time, the festival programme will include the Art & Science section, with carefully selected films of both artistic and cognitive value. The 15th edition of the TME Polówka Festival will start on 28 June and will last until mid-September. Traditionally, the screenings will begin after 9:00 p.m.

This year, in the Art & Science section, we will focus on the most interesting scientific discoveries, experiments, inventions and research. This category will include such titles as "Kinsey" – a film about the work of an American biologist, whose shocking research effectively divided the American community, "iHuman" – a document introducing the idea of artificial intelligence, or the cult "Interstellar" by Christopher Nolan.

In July, on Saturday evenings, cinema enthusiasts will meet in the beautiful garden of the Biedermann’s Palace (Franciszkańska 1/5), while in August, we will invite you to the charming garden of Oskar Ziegler Villa (Maria Skłodowska-Curie 11).

The Art & Science section includes eight titles:

This year's edition includes over 100 film screenings in 15 locations.

The first Polówka in Lodz was held  in 2007 in a clearing next to the amphitheatre in Park na Zdrowiu. It was organised by a group of enthusiasts running the famous Cytryna Cinema. The Spanish drama „Dark Blue Almost Black” (Spanish: Azuloscurocasinegro) directed by Daniel Sanchez Arevalo was selected for the first screening. In 2007, there were only eight screenings. 2022 is the 15th edition of the TME Polówka Summer Film Festival, the most popular film event in Lodz, which will run from June 28 until mid-September. In total, more than 100 films in 15 locations will be waiting for cinema enthusiasts.
