What awaits volunteers during EUG 2022 Lodz?
All volunteers will get an outfit, a set of gadgets and free meals. For volunteers from outside Lodz, some limited accommodation will be provided. The volunteers will also take part in a series of trainings before the event and will have a chance to participate in educational and cultural events taking part during the sports event.
European Universities Games in Lodz will be held between 17 and 31 of July 2022. However, assistance of the volunteers will be required earlier, even before the event starts. The first phase of the recruitment will last until 31 January 2022.
Everyone who feels power to act, has a head full of ideas and is at least a little bit interested in sport should definitely apply.

Olympians encourage to volunteer at EUG 2022 Lodz
Anita Włodarczyk, Małgorzata Hołub – Kowalik and Kajetan Duszyński convince that volunteering at the largest academic sports event in Europe is the adventure of a lifetime. Even up to 6000 athletes from all over Europe will take part in the event with the support of over 800 volunteers.
The volunteers will help with sports games, accommodation, transportation, media and the fan zone. Volunteering, however, is not only about duties.

However, not only students can become volunteers at the European Universities Games 2022 (EUG) in Lodz. The candidates should be at least 16 years of age. Interpersonal skills are also important. You just have to be open-minded and ready for challenges. Volunteering is a great opportunity to test your skills and also try your hand at organizing a large, international sports event.
Małgorzata Hołub – Kowalik, this year's Tokyo Olympic champion in the mixed 4x400 meter relay, is under no illusion that no major sports event would take place without the support of volunteers:
Volunteers are the most important people at any event, because judges are obviously important, but we have 90% direct contact with volunteers.
Six thousand competitors, representing 400 universities from 40 European countries – during such a large event the support of volunteers is necessary. Assisting with transportation and logistics will require knowledge of the city, and caring for athletes will require communicative English skills.
It is an event on a grand scale – more than 16 very interesting disciplines, combat sports, football, basketball

How much do you need to know about sport to become a volunteer at EUG 2022 Lodz?
Of course, it would be good for a volunteer candidate to like sports, be interested in sports events and have a general understanding of the rules in the individual competitions. However, this is not a prerequisite.
