The Activus Foundation and Activus Senior Academy were founded by Marek Chałas, a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Lodz. The Academy was created for all senior citizens who want to maintain intellectual, emotional and physical activity, as well as participate in social life. It has been providing them with opportunities to do so for 10 years!
The future lies ahead of us all
– said Rector of the University of Lodz, Prof. dr hab. Rafał Matera, who has had an opportunity to lecture several times for senior citizens at the Activus Senior Academy and was present at the Activus 10th anniversary celebrations.

As part of the Activus Senior Academy lectures for the entire community of its participants, as well as thematic meetings, workshops, and trips in interest sections are held.
In addition to its core activities, the Activus Senior Academy implements various projects. It develops international cooperation, cooperating with partners from Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Malta, Italy and the Czech Republic. Activus is also accredited by the Erasmus+ programme for the adult education sector for 2021-2027. This allows it to benefit from funding for projects with international partners, because it's never too late to develop!
That's why we are joining the wishes of the University of Lodz Rector, Prof. dr hab. Rafał Matera for the seniors from the Activus Senior Academy: may you continue to inspire new generations, because after all, it's all of us, regardless of age, who make up UniLodz. A university that is diverse, open, and above all #HumanUniversity.
