The next edition of the long-awaited event – Biologists' Night – will be held on 16 January 2026! This year's theme is: "Biology Full of Signals – Discover How Life Speaks." All event information are updated regularly!

Biologists' Night offers a unique opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at the work of scientists. The event participants will be able to see modern laboratory equipment, talk with scientists, doctoral students and undergraduates, learn about current research directions at the faculty, as well as get familiar with the work of research teams and student science clubs. This is a unique opportunity to experience contemporary biology and the fascinating nature of research.

The event is inclusive and accessible in nature – the programme includes proposals for preschoolers, primary and high school students, as well as any adult interested in science.

In line with the campaign's objectives, participation in all activities is free, and the programme has been designed with participants of all ages in mind – from preschoolers, through primary and high school students, to adult science enthusiasts. Lectures, workshops and demonstrations will be held in three adjacent buildings of our faculty, as well as at the Natural History Museum University of Lodz. The wide range of activities offers something for everyone.

Admission to the lectures and demonstrations is free, and a detailed programme has been available on the official event website since 5 December 2025 (to access our faculty's programme, select its location from the map available on the website). Advance registration is required in the case of workshops. You can register after creating an account on the event website. After selecting the workshops of interest, please indicate the desired number of participants.

About the initiative

Biologists' Night is a nationwide educational event whose mission is to popularise biology and the natural sciences among a wide audience. Each year, it attracts thousands of participants – children, young people, teachers, families and adult science enthusiasts – providing them with an opportunity to experience biology firsthand in an academic setting. During the event, biology faculties, research institutes, botanical gardens and research units across Poland open their laboratories and workshops, preparing a rich programme of activities tailored to audiences of all ages.
