In times of information overload, ubiquitous greenwashing, and fake news, it's crucial to provide professional knowledge about climate change, its sources and consequences, as well as the actions needed. Additionally it all should be presented it in a clear and user-friendly way. The "Lexicon of Climate Policy" addresses this challenge. The lexicon has just been awarded the Ekolaury award.

Ekolaury is an award granted by the Polish Chamber of Ecology. The idea behind the award is to promote the most effective environmental protection efforts and to mobilise companies and institutions to continue working for environmental protection and sustainable development.

In this year's edition of the Ekolaury award, the Foundation of Environmental and Resource Economists received a distinction in the "Environmental Education" category for its publication of the "Lexicon of Climate Policy". The lexicon combines scientifically grounded knowledge with a popular science approach. It contains 84 entries. These entries vary not only in subject matter but also in form and description. Some are specifically scientific, while others refer to social phenomena and movements. The lexicon is rich in examples, interesting facts and sources helpful in deepening the information presented within its pages. Its accessible design also underscores the publication's appeal.

Employees and students of the University of Lodz contributed significantly to the preparation of the Lexicon. Dr Agnieszka Rzeńca is the Lexicon's scientific co-editor, and its authors include: Prof. dr hab. Joanna Wibig, dr hab. Elżbieta Antczak, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, dr hab. Małgorzata Burchard-Dziubińska, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, dr hab. Edyta Łaszkiewicz, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, Dr Agnieszka Rzeńca, Dr Natalia Szubska-Włodarczyk, mgr Klaudia Kamińska and lic. Stanisław Roszczyk.

The lexicon can be downloaded free of charge from the website of the Foundation of Environmental and Resource Economists. More information about the Ekolaury Award can be found on the website of the competition organiser (in Polish).

The 2025 Ekolaury award ceremony was held on 26 November 2025, at the Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Katowice City Center.
