A pioneering scholarly monograph published by Routledge
Routledge has published a scientific monograph by the employees of the Department of International Finance and Investments at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, dr hab. Małgorzata Janicka, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, and dr hab. Artur Sajnóg, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, entitled "Sustainable Development and Finance in Europe. Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting in Financial Markets". This is the first monograph devoted to the issue of sustainable finance published by this prestigious publishing house.
The authors of the monograph characterised and assessed the operation of capital markets in the European Union (EU) countries in terms of sustainable development within two key research areas. Firstly, they analysed the legal and institutional environment of EU stock markets in the sustainable recovery of the European economy, and secondly, they assessed the conditions for the implementation of non-financial reporting requirements in the area of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) by public companies listed on capital markets in the EU and the functioning of ESG indicators based on these requirements.
The book is a valuable source of knowledge on the conditions and consequences of changes towards sustainable finance taking place in financial markets, especially stock markets. It is addressed primarily to the academic community. However, it may also be useful for various stakeholders in the business sector, including enterprises, institutional and individual investors, and financial institutions.
The book is available for purchase on the Routledge website. It will be available for download free of charge from July 2026.
