Meet the award winners from UniLodz!
The award, granted by the Polish Academy of Sciences, was presented to five young scientists. In the field of Humanities and Social Sciences, the honour went to Dr Jakub Gortat from the Department of German Studies at the Faculty of Philology, University of Lodz, whose research specialisations include German and Austrian film, post-traumatic cinema, and Polish-German cultural relations.
In turn, in the field of Exact Sciences, the PAS Award was presented to Dr Justyna Piechocka from the Department of Environmental Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Lodz. Dr Piechocka received the Award of the Committee on Analytical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences for outstanding habilitation in September of the current year. Dr Piechocka's scientific specialisation focuses on analytical chemistry.
What are the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) Awards for Young Scientists Working in the Lodz Voivodeship?
Each year, the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) awards five awards to Young Scientists Working in the Lodz Voivodeship – one each in the Humanities and Social Sciences, Biological and Medical Sciences, Exact Sciences, Engineering, and the Arts.
The awards are given to young researchers up to 38 years of age employed or conducting research at institutions located in the region. Their goal is to honour and recognise the achievements of young scientists who contribute to the development of science and strengthen the research potential of the Lodz Voivodeship.
