University of Lodz students awarded with ministerial scholarships

Krzysztof Hejduk, a student of English studies at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Lodz, and Klaudia Wojtunik, a student of geoinformation – a field of study at the Faculty of Geographical Sciences in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Lodz, are among the recipients of scholarships from the Minister of Education and Science for scientific, artistic or sports achievements.

Each student from Lodz will receive a financial award of PLN 17,000.

In this year's edition of the competition, the rectors of Polish universities submitted a total of 944 applications for the minister's scholarship for the academic year 2021/2022. The applications were assessed by an expert advisory team for the evaluation of applications for students and outstanding young scientists, consisting of 47 representatives of all scientific and artistic disciplines.

After consultations with the team of experts, the Minister of Education and Science has decided to award 432 scholarships, including:

  • 372 for scientific achievements; 
  • 22 for sports achievements; 
  • 20 for artistic achievements; 
  • 18 for mixed achievements (scientific and artistic or scientific and sports).
