CFSN is an academic center dedicated to research on diverse forms of self-narratives, with particular emphasis on historical, cultural, literary, and legal perspectives, as well as on issues of privacy arising from these sources. The Center is open to research covering all geographical areas of Europe, and its aim is to promote a better understanding of the multifaceted nature of European society, both past and present. It is therefore open to cooperation with global partners.

CFSN is engaged in the following activities:

creating a database of ego-documents and auto-narratives in Poland

conducting, promoting, and coordinating research activities at the University of Łódź focused on self-narratives and egodocuments

promoting Polish and international cooperation in research on self-narratives and egodocuments

organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences on auto-narratives and egodocuments at the University of Łódź, in Poland, and abroad

initiating and coordinating discussions on innovative ideas in the above-mentioned field

preparing scholarly publications for national and international audiences, as well as popularizing research beyond the academic community

cooperating with academic institutions to create collections of egodocuments and self-narratives
