The Science Section of the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the University of Łódź operates within the Dean’s Office. The Science Section is responsible for: 

1. the evaluation of academic disciplines; 

2. procedures for the award of academic degrees; 

3. degree recognition (nostrification) procedures; 

4. periodic evaluation of academic staff; 

5. coordination of applications for awards for academic staff; 

6. administrative support for the University of Łódź Committee for Academic Degrees in History and the University of Łódź Committee for Academic Degrees in Archaeology and Philosophy; 

7. administration of the ScienceON system; 

8. reporting on research activities and international cooperation; 

9. coordination of international staff mobility and exchange programmes; 

10. preparation of resolutions adopted by the Faculty Council, as well as the Dean’s regulations, announcements, and appointment documents; 

11. administration of research grants funded by the European Union, the Ministry, and other external sources and affiliated with the Faculty, including in particular: 

• assisting staff in preparing project budgets for grant applications; 

• financial administration of research projects;

• cooperation and information exchange with the University's financial and legal units
