• Tangible and intangible cultural heritage — how communities reinterpret objects, places and traditions, transmit them across generations, and draw on them in contemporary cultural and social initiatives.

• Locality and community formation — the role of community engagement and residents’ initiatives in building social ties and a sense of belonging to place; changes in local customs and social relations.

• Biographical research and oral history — biographical interviews and oral accounts as sources for understanding lived experiences of social change; connections between personal recollections, collective memory and local history.

• Everyday life and rituals — how customs, shared gatherings and recurring practices sustain social ties, transmit memory and express collective identities.

• Cultural landscapes and place-based memory — meanings attached to buildings, meeting places and shared spaces, and their role in preserving local memory and shaping attachments to place.

• Contemporary religion and spirituality — with a particular focus on new forms of pastoral ministry in the Catholic Church: religious practices, forms of participation and community formation, and their connections with everyday life.

• Fieldwork methodology and ethics — researcher–participant relationships, responsibility in representing participants’ experiences, and participatory methods that involve participants in producing and interpreting knowledge.
