POSITION DESCRIPTION
Specialty: literary studies
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
In 2006 I was employed as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Philology, University of Lodz.
INTERESTS
I am mainly interested in axiology, 18th-20th century text editing and neuroscience. For a decade and a half I have been researching the work and life of Jan Lechoń.
My passions are also gemology and Buddhism.
I am a member of the Society for Research on the Eighteenth Century, the Gemmological Society and the School of Early Buddhism.
Henryk Elzenberg in his didactic writings included the idea that "one should react with one's whole self to the value of an object. Otherwise, our contact with value loses its life meaning, which is the attraction of ourselves". I was attracted by the power of taste, closely related to Good, Truth and Beauty, which - as Elzenberg considered - is a vehicle of passion and virtue. The power of taste fills me with peace.
