The European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship is a non-profit organisation, which focuses on scientific research in the area of entrepreneurship and small business. It was established in 1988 and currently has over 500 members.

I am honoured to be taking over the position of ECSB President. I am very pleased that for the first time in the 35-year history of the organisation, a representative of a university from Central and Eastern Europe has been entrusted with this function. It is a great honour, but also a responsibility

– says Dr hab. Agnieszka Kurczewska, Associate Professor.

ECSB is recognised as the main organisation of European entrepreneurship researchers who successfully cooperate with the community of practice and contribute to increasing the social impact in the area of entrepreneurship across Europe. Its main objective is to disseminate scientific knowledge and support research and the open exchange of ideas between academia, education, policy and practice.

As ECSB, we would like to continue to support and promote research that seeks to better understand entrepreneurial processes. We plan to organise numerous events aimed at strengthening relations between European research centres. There are certainly interesting initiatives awaiting young researchers. Entrepreneurship is a fascinating phenomenon that occurs in many contexts and requires constant interpretation. ECSB helps integrate the community that, by joining forces, is able to discover its new aspects and propose many innovative solutions

– adds the new President of ESBC.

Dr hab. Agnieszka Kurczewska, Associate Professor, has been a member of ECSB for ten years and has been a member of the Management Board of this organisation for six years. She is the author of the BLI (Best Learning Innovation) competition. She has organised numerous scientific workshops for young scientists and coordinated the activities of representatives of national authorities. Prof. Kurczewska is also the originator and coordinator of the #UniLodz Academy of Entrepreneurship, which is above all to inspire people to set up their own businesses.
